Then on to The Mentalist and NCIS stories....
I didn't catch on to The Mentalist until its second season. Then I saw an episode that I kept thinking about... wondering about a different way the story could have gone. I began the project as a short "alternate ending" story, but as stories do, it took on a bit of a life itself, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Although I didn't bring in many original characters, I explored a side of the main character that hadn't been explored on the show. This was my first time posting to a BIG online fandom, complete with worldwide stats, which became addicting! Click the picture on the right for a link to my Mentalist story, Scarlet Blade:

I finally got serious with NCIS....
I didn't start watching NCIS until just a couple years ago. And once I did, it was a 6-month marathon of catching up. I remember thinking how hard it would be to write those stories because the characters are so quirky and the content is sometimes complex. By the time I had caught up to the new episodes, I had gotten proficient at annoying my daughter by saying the characters' lines before they said them--on my first viewing. Finally she said, "You need to write one!" So I did. I received very nice feedback and a lot of encouragement to 1) write more and 2) write my own book.
